About Us

Kafue Institute of Health Science Education and Research (KIHSER) is a private public partnership (P.P.P) institution that has been established by three partners i.e. Lecturers from Chainama College of Health sciences (CCHS]).  The purpose of establishing it is to assist the Government of the Republic of Zambia in training Clinical Officer Generals, Environmental technologists, Registered Nurses and Teachers. 


These health officers are important front line health cadres (workers) that attend to many common ailments afflicting our people throughout the country. Furthermore, teachers provide tomorrows leaders by imparting in our children knowledge. However, because of population growth and escalating disease burden and need for an educated Zambia, besides limited resources, Government alone has not been able to train enough EHT’s, Registered Nurses and Teachers.  Hence, this initiative of establishing KIHSER.


Registration & recognition –KIHSER is  a limited Company incorporated by the patents & companies Registration Agency (PACRA), re. Certificate No. 78499. It is recognized by the Health Professions Council of Zambia, General Nursing Council and Teaching Council of Zambia to train Clinical officers, Registered Nurses and teachers respectively over a three year period, in accordance with the provisions of section 32 of the health Professions act No. 24 of 2009 of the laws of Zambia, General Nursing council act No 55 of 1970 and Teaching Profession act No. 5 of 2013.
